Instructor Nelson Lay has been training BJJ since 2007 and is a black belt under Marcelino Freitas. With numerous achievements, including winning Victorian and Pan Pacific competitions, Nelson is an active competitor and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his students. Beyond his BJJ expertise, Nelson is also a qualified personal trainer and holds a double degree in Exercise Science and Sport Management with Honours in Exercise Physiology. His teaching experience includes years of tutoring at Deakin University and teaching Jiu-Jitsu both in Australia and overseas.
Nelson's passion for travelling, rock climbing, breath-work, and meditation is evident in his approach to BJJ, as he aims to bring a holistic perspective to his students.
