Hutt District Cricket Club

The Hutt District Cricket Club, also known as HDCC, is a vibrant and inclusive cricket club located in Lower Hutt, New Zealand. With a rich history and a strong focus on fostering a love for the game, HDCC is a popular choice for cricket enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels.

As one of the largest junior clubs in Wellington, HDCC Junior Cricket offers an exciting and supportive environment for kids to develop their cricket skills, make friends, and have fun. With over 250 players and 25 teams across various grades, HDCC ensures that every child gets an equal opportunity to bat, bowl, and field, keeping them active and engaged throughout the game.

In addition to regular junior cricket fixtures, HDCC also offers its junior players the chance to participate in the renowned Hawke's Bay Cricket Camps held during the January school holidays. These camps, specifically designed for Year 5 to Year 8 players, provide a unique opportunity to further develop their skills and experience the joy of cricket in a camp setting.

Another exciting event on the HDCC calendar is the Hawke's Bay Cricket Tournament in January 2024. The club aims to send teams to compete in each grade and this tournament has become a highlight for the HDCC community. Registration for this tournament will open in October 2023.

Registrations for junior cricket are open between 30 August and 30 September. To secure a spot on a team, it is recommended to register before the deadline, as registrations from 1 October may be placed on a waiting list. HDCC relies on the support of volunteers, particularly coaches, scorers, umpires, and sideline assistants. Parents are encouraged to get involved and contribute to the growth and success of the club.
