Ibstone Cricket Club

Established in High Wycombe, Ibstone Cricket Club is a friendly and inclusive club that is passionate about the sport of cricket. Located in the beautiful Chiltern Hills, the club boasts a well-maintained pitch that is easily accessible from Junction 5 of the M40.

Ibstone Cricket Club primarily plays friendly matches against local village teams throughout the summer, no matter the weather conditions. The club also offers the opportunity to hire their ground for other cricket teams or events.

As a Sunday League club, Ibstone Cricket Club plays cricket solely for the love of the game and within the spirit of fair play. The club is home to a dedicated group of individuals who have been involved with Ibstone Cricket Club for many years. Neil “Sneck” Hester, the Honorary Secretary, has been with the club since birth and is known for his expertise as an opening batsman, specialising in scoring 50s and high 90s. Tim Hester, a committee member since 1983, is renowned for his sledging skills and achieved remarkable figures of “7 wickets for 4 runs” while playing against under 12's. Adam North has been with the club since 1996 and is known for his modesty and versatility in all aspects of the game.

Martin Lambourne, an Ibstone member since 2006, is a gun barrel opening bowler and has also played for Watlington. Ashley Sanders, a member since 2012, specialises in wicket-keeping and has previously played for Chalgrove and Cuxham. Alex Jackson, also known as Wacko Jacko, is valued for his exceptional fielding skills. Oscar Hearnden, a committee member since 2009, is a batsman by default and exemplifies the club's values.

Richard Wilson, affectionately known as Half Century, has been the club's mascot since 2008 and is known for his exceptional catching abilities, having also played for England. Angus Hearnden, nicknamed Angry, joined the club in 2013 and is known for his fast bowling abilities. James Goodrich, chairman since 2016, is an accomplished batsman who previously played for Wandsworth Wanderers. Lastly, Jordan Lee-Paskin, nicknamed Boris, has been the team's captain since 2008 and is known for his all-round abilities in bowling, batting, fielding, and ducks.

In addition to their love for cricket, the club also operates the 100 Club, a monthly draw where the lucky winner has the chance to retire early to the south of France with a cash prize. The draw, consisting of 46 balls, generates revenue for the club, with a monthly prize of 112. 50. To be included in this exciting fundraiser, members can purchase a number for 5 per month through a monthly direct debit payment.
