Welcome to IJJF Gold Coast, a martial arts school located in Mudgeeraba. We offer a unique programme that combines traditional Japanese Jui-Jitsu with modern training techniques. Our classes are designed to improve both your physical and mental well-being, while instilling important values such as honour, bravery, compassion, honesty, and loyalty.

At IJJF Gold Coast, we emphasise tradition and cultivate the skills and discipline necessary for advanced martial arts training. As you progress through our programme, you will develop confidence, self-respect, and discipline in all aspects of your life.

Getting started is easy – simply wear comfortable clothing such as a t-shirt, sweatpants, or shorts if you don't have a uniform. We recommend bringing water and a notebook to each class. As a beginner, you will receive a white belt, and as you advance, belt colours represent different stages of achievement.

During class, it is significant to address the instructor as “Sensei,” showing respect for their knowledge and experience. First names should be used when addressing other students. Bowing is also a significant aspect of our training, as it signifies respect and mental preparation. We will teach you specific bowing techniques that are utilised in IJJF.

Safety is of utmost importance to us. Before learning tripping and throwing techniques, we will teach you break-falling techniques to ensure you can attack and fall safely. Our Jui-Jitsu lessons will cover joint locks, break-falling, and ground grappling. We ask that you listen carefully, be respectful, avoid any disruptive behaviour, ask for permission when necessary, and tap out if needed to ensure everyone's safety.

Our classes are open to individuals of all ages and fitness levels. Whether you are a beginner looking to start your martial arts journey or an experienced practitioner seeking to further develop your skills, we have classes tailored to suit your needs. We offer traditional Japanese Jui-Jitsu and self-defence classes, family training packs, and adult classes.
