InspirAsian Dance & Yoga is a vibrant and dynamic dance company and yoga school located in Truro, New Zealand. Founded in 2008 by professional dancer and yoga teacher, Charlotte Richards, InspirAsian Dance & Yoga offers a range of classes, workshops, and performances that promote wellness through movement.

One of the main offerings at InspirAsian Dance & Yoga is Hatha Yoga. Charlotte, a qualified Hatha Yoga teacher with ten years of experience, provides bespoke classes privately or in groups for retreats. Her most popular class is Yoga on the beach, a unique concept that combines postures, breath work, and relaxation against the backdrop of crashing waves and picturesque sea. Participants of Charlotte's sessions rave about the sensory stimulation of sounds, sand/pebbles under their feet, fresh air, and Charlotte's compassionate guidance, which greatly contribute to their physical and mental wellness.

In addition to yoga, InspirAsian Dance & Yoga specialises in Indian dance. Whether it's a wedding, birthday, corporate function, or cultural festival, their performances are a sight to behold. With colourful costumes, energetic movements, and vibrant music, their Indian dance styles include Bollywood, Bhangra, Kathak, and Folk dance, bringing the spirit of India to any special occasion or event. Charlotte also delivers workshops in schools and for children's parties, sharing her love for Indian dance and culture with the younger generation.

Charlotte's passion for Indian arts is evident in her qualifications and training. She holds a degree in Dance and Related Arts and a PGCE, and she travelled to South Asia to learn more about the culture of yoga and dance. Charlotte began her Indian dance career with The Dancing Nikita Company in 2005, training in classical Indian Kathak dance under renowned Gurus such as Pratap Pawar, Shila Mehta, and Pandit Birju Maharaj. Her main mentor in Kathak is Nikita Thakrar at DNC Studio in London.

InspirAsian Dance operates in the South-West region of New Zealand and offers workshops and performances at various events, including festivals, corporate and community events, fundraisers, and educational settings. Alongside her dance company, Charlotte also teaches Hatha Yoga at Breathe Yoga Studio in Truro, where she has a decade of experience. Additionally, she is a qualified baby and toddler swim teacher and water fitness tutor, further emphasising her dedication to promoting wellness through movement.
