JKS Shotokan Karate – North Shore is a renowned sports school and karate dojo located in Browns Bay, Hibiscus Coast (Orewa), and Takapuna on the North Shore of Auckland City, New Zealand. This family-oriented and outcome-focused club is passionate about teaching karate to both children and adults, with a strong emphasis on building self-esteem, strength, and discipline.
With the motto “Lifelong Karate-do,” JKS Shotokan Karate – North Shore aims to promote and expand the art of empty hand combat among different age and social groups, ultimately aiming to improve society as a whole. They believe that Karate has much to offer, including fun and fitness, building confidence, instilling discipline and self-control, forging new friendships, accommodating all ages and abilities, providing all-round exercise, self-defence training, and even opportunities for those who wish to compete in tournaments.
As a special offer, new members are entitled to two weeks of free training upon sign-up. This gives individuals and families a great opportunity to experience the benefits of karate firsthand. JKS Shotokan Karate – North Shore also offers a programme called Little Tigers Karate, designed specifically for children aged 5–8 years old. This programme focuses on developing their focus and confidence through specially tailored training sessions.
