Johnsonville Cricket Club Inc

Johnsonville Cricket Club Inc, founded in 1886, stands as one of the oldest clubs in the Wellington region. With a strong history and deep community roots, it offers a comprehensive cricketing experience for all.

The club has top-notch facilities, featuring a four-lane outdoor net and an indoor three-lane setup. The clubrooms, located in the new Waiora shared sports facility at Alex Moore Park, provide a great backdrop for matches and events.

For the 2023/2024 season, the club plans to field teams across various levels, including top Men, Premier Reserve Men, Division 5 Men, Division 7 Men, Men's T20 Division 1, Division 2 Women, and Girls Hardball teams for Years 7-11. Girls Softball teams for Years 5-8 and junior teams for boys and girls in Years 2-8 are also part of the lineup. Adding to that, there's the Smash Play Academy for boys and girls aged 5 or 6 (Year 0 or Year 1) starting on November 1, 2023.

The Junior section's main focus is to nurture young cricketers, offering coaching and play opportunities for all age groups and skill levels. They aim to create a fun and inclusive environment.

Rick Mudgway, the club's chairman, has been a key figure in Johnsonville Cricket Club's success. His dedication has earned him Life Member status. From coaching his sons' junior teams to serving as Chairman and Club Captain, Rick has helped steer the club through challenging times, supporting juniors, women's and girls' cricket, and ensuring men's teams have what they need to thrive.
