Welcome to Kathakarsusanta, the thriving dance community built on passion, tradition, and unparalleled artistry. Founded by the esteemed Susanta Ghosh, a disciple of eminent gurus in the field, this school is a sanctuary for Kathak enthusiasts and practitioners alike. Located in the heart of Kolkata, Kathakarsusanta invites students of all ages and skill levels to immerse themselves in the rich heritage of the Lucknow Gharana of Kathak.
Classes are meticulously tailored to each level of expertise, from beginners to advanced dancers. Sunday sessions at the Indira Cinema Hall Studio offer a nurturing environment for toddlers, kids, and adult learners. For those seeking more advanced training, classes are held at our dedicated Kadapara and Sonarpur locations. Both online and offline classes are available, welcoming local and international students with open arms. Each session ensures an intricate understanding of rhythm, expression, and the unity of mind, body, and soul—core elements of Kathak yoga.
Kathakarsusanta prides itself not only on technical rigor but also on fostering a vibrant, supportive community. Students have numerous opportunities to showcase their talents through concerts, annual performances, and the unique Baithaki home concert series. Regular workshops led by living legends such as Pt. Birju Maharaj and Smt. Saswati Sen further enrich the learning experience, ensuring that students receive a holistic education in Kathak.
