Kellys School Of Dance (KSD) in Nuneaton offers a diverse range of dance classes for all ages and skill levels. Since its establishment in February 2009, KSD Studio has been dedicated to nurturing dancers and guiding them towards excellence. The classes and events held at the studio inspire and motivate dancers to gain confidence, improve technique and flexibility, and create unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime.
The story of KSD Studio began at a local sports centre, where they initially offered classes in freestyle dance. As the school grew, they were able to expand and provide a wider variety of dance genres to dancers of all ages. In 2015, the studio was fortunate enough to purchase their own premises. With the help of their dedicated families and dance community, they transformed a run-down Methodist church into a beautiful dance studio.
The state-of-the-art facility features sprung floors, a sound system, mirrors, barres, air conditioning, changing rooms, and a kitchen.
Over the years, KSD Studio has been involved in numerous exciting events and opportunities. They have performed in London, danced at Disneyland Paris, shared the stage with stars from the X Factor, competed in competitions, and taken IDTA examinations, among other achievements.
KSD Studio prides itself on providing classes for every skill level, ranging from beginner to professional. Whether someone is aspiring to have a career in dance or simply looking for a fun way to exercise, the studio has a class that suits their needs.
The studio offers a wide range of classes for different age groups. Their junior classes include Friday freestyle, Friday gymnastics, and Saturday tap and ballet. For intermediate dancers, there are classes such as Monday cheerleading, Tuesday pole, Friday gymnastics, Friday freestyle, Saturday theatre dance, Saturday rock n roll, and Saturday musical theatre. Senior classes encompass Monday cheerleading, Thursday lyrical and tap, Friday gymnastics, and Friday freestyle.
Advanced and invitation-only classes include Wednesday competition class, Thursday advanced acro, and Thursday advanced class. Sunday rehearsals may be required when special events are taking place.
Kelly Baker, the owner of the dance studio, has been dancing since the age of 3. She participated in local and regional dance competitions, took numerous IDTA examinations, and performed in both professional and amateur productions and musicals. After attending Pattison Theatre Arts and completing a three-year musical theatre course in Coventry, she gained professional level performing and teaching qualifications with the IDTA. Kelly's School of Dance has now been running for 14 years and continues to thrive with numerous achievements.
Teaching dance has always been Kelly's passion, and owning her own studio has been a lifelong dream. She takes great pride in being able to create shows and performances for her students. The studio has been highly successful in IDTA examinations, competition results, and auditions, and Kelly is excited to see what the future holds for KSD. Kelly is immensely proud of all her students and their hard work.
