About

Meeting of the Queen's Board and approved. The Queen's Rowing Club was formed in October 1976. The club's first boathouse was a humble 900 square foot facility located in a surplus infant welfare building on King Street West near Sir John A. Macdonald Boulevard.

The Henley-on-the-Thames style regatta course was established on the Cataraqui River at the waterfront.

The Kingston Rowing Club (KRC) was officially established in 1981, merging the Queen's Rowing Club and the McArthur College Rowing Club. The Kingston Rowing Club moved into their current location at 1 Cataraqui St. in 1987 where they continue to operate today. The club has since grown and expanded its programs to include Learn to Row, Recreational Rowing, Competitive Rowing, and High-Performance Rowing.

The club also hosts various regattas and events throughout the year, bringing the community together to celebrate the sport of rowing.

Today, the Kingston Rowing Club is a thriving community of rowers, coaches, and volunteers who are passionate about the sport. The club continues to produce high-calibre athletes who go on to represent Canada on the national stage. The club's dedication to excellence, teamwork, and community involvement has made it a respected institution in Kingston and beyond.

Join the Kingston Rowing Club today and experience the power and beauty of rowing on Kingston's inner harbour. Whether you're a beginner looking to learn the basics or an experienced rower seeking to improve your skills, there's a program for you at KRC. Row with us. Grow with us.
