KORYU KARATE is a reputable and well-established Shotokan Karate School located in Cardiff, South Wales. The school was founded in 2006 by Chief Instructor Carl Peckham 5th Dan, who possesses over 30 years of experience in Shotokan Karate and various other Martial Arts.
Renowned for its commitment to high standards, KORYU KARATE is widely recognised for producing multiple National Champions. The club places great emphasis on training its students to the highest possible standard, while instilling values of discipline and respect. At KORYU KARATE, it is strongly believed that a grade should not simply be awarded but should be earned and acknowledged.
The school offers various classes catering to different age groups and skill levels. For children between the ages of 5 and 7, the Tigers Karate class provides a structured yet enjoyable experience where they can learn traditional Martial Arts techniques. Young students are encouraged to participate in KORYU KARATE from an early age as it helps improve self-confidence, set personal targets, and achieve their individual goals.
Additionally, KORYU KARATE offers classes for Traditional Karate juniors and seniors. The timings for the juniors are Monday and Thursday, from 5:45pm to 7pm, while the seniors' class takes place on the same days from 7:15pm to 8:30pm. Beginners can also join the Traditional Karate juniors class on Mondays and Thursdays, from 4:30pm to 5:30pm.
