Whether it's traditional karate, kickboxing and fitness, or Krav Maga self-defence, they offer a comprehensive range of sessions to cater to different interests and needs.
Their sessions are designed to be fun yet informative. For children ages 5 to 13, the goal is to provide basic instruction and repetition of kata, kihon, and kumite, along with team-building games. For ages 8 and above (under 11s to train with an adult family member), the focus is on repetition to build capability, with additional fitness drills incorporated. Adults and advanced kyu grades can expect in-depth karate training, exploring and teaching advanced concepts.
And for those looking to test themselves and build confidence, sparring, self-defence, padwork drills, and bootcamp-style fitness sessions are available for adults, advanced kyu grades, and over 12s.
Joining Krav Maga @ Impact Bushido Martial Arts is a straightforward process. They require attendance at a trial session where prospective members can experience firsthand how they train and receive basic guidance and support. There is no pressure to join, and trial sessions can be continued until the individual is satisfied. Once ready to commit, a simple confirmation form and setting up of direct debit is all that's needed.
When it comes to pricing, Krav Maga @ Impact Bushido Martial Arts offers several plans to choose from, providing unlimited access to train in any sessions that match the age and fitness criteria. While they may not be the cheapest, they strive to be the best value.
All sessions take place in the gymnasium at Wheatfields Junior School (AL4 9NT). The venue offers changing rooms, a waiting area, outdoor space for training on good weather days, and a sprung sports floor ideal for bare-foot training. Access to the gym is through the playground gate near Runcie Close, with the door to the right of the gym (lower playground) open 10 minutes before each session. Parking is available at Runcie Close or the Ridgeway.
At Krav Maga @ Impact Bushido Martial Arts, the instructors are passionate about sharing their martial arts training to help individuals achieve their personal goals. Whether it's increased fitness, improved confidence, greater levels of concentration, improved discipline, increased personal safety, or simply the love of the art, they are committed to supporting their students. While they are not affiliated with any other organisation or follow a mainstream style (ryu), their senior instructors have received a majority of their training in Shotokan and Krav Maga. They continuously seek to evolve their understanding of karate through training both within their group and in collaboration with other traditional groups, ensuring they preserve the essence of the art they practise.
