Aikido Oxford Koushinkan, the local Mixed Martial Arts club in Oxford, is excited to promote their upcoming event, Little Dragons. This martial art class is specially tailored for children aged 4–7 years old in the Oxford area.
The primary focus of the Little Dragons class is to develop concentration, co-ordination, and co-operation skills. Through a series of basic movements, the children learn important concepts like sliding, stepping forward, twisting, and pivoting. The class also covers essential lessons on awareness and 'stranger danger,' as well as basic personal protection exercises. But don't worry, it's not all serious business – the class also incorporates a variety of games to improve social skills and fitness, keeping it fun and engaging for the little ones.
Rest assured, your child will be in the capable hands of qualified Aikido instructors who have completed our club's children instructor course. These instructors have also undergone safeguarding and protecting children courses and are CRB checked to ensure the utmost safety for your child. Plus, with two instructors per class, your child will receive the individual attention and guidance they need to thrive.
The Little Dragons classes take place every Thursday from 5.00pm to 6.00pm at the South Oxford Community Centre. The facility is equipped with clean mats and all the necessary equipment, which are regularly sanitised before and after each class. Additionally, our instructors undergo regular testing and have received the Covid vaccine to ensure the safety of all participants.
Whether your child is a complete beginner or has experience in Aikido or other forms of martial arts, the club warmly welcomes all. There's no need for previous fitness or experience – just a willingness to learn and have a great time. And to make things even better, you can book a FREE trial lesson for your child to see if they enjoy it.
