Malvern Tae Kwon Do Academy

Malvern Tae Kwon Do Academy is the longest running martial arts school in Malvern, located in Malvern St James Sports Centre, Malvern, Worcestershire. The Academy offers high-quality tuition in various disciplines, including Tae Kwon Do (ITF style), self-defence classes, Eskrima, and weaponry classes.

The team of instructors at Malvern Tae Kwon Do Academy includes notable individuals who are experienced in their respective fields. The Chief Instructor, Master Michael Collins, holds a 6th Dan rank and leads the Academy. Other instructors include Mr. Andrew Phillips (5th Dan), Master Peter Lewis (5th Dan), Mr.

Chris Brown (4th Dan), Mrs. Helen Gormley (3rd Dan), Mr. Nick Howden (3rd Dan), Mr. Antony Pullen (3rd Dan), Mr.

Karl Greenway (2nd Dan), and Mr. Paul Elkin (2nd Dan).

Malvern Tae Kwon Do Academy bases its teaching on the ITF system and holds coloured belt gradings assessed by the Chief Instructor, Master Collins. The Academy also hosts higher dan gradings with esteemed practitioners such as Master Willie Lim (8th Dan) and Master Kevin Summers (7th Dan) serving as the head of the National panel of examiners.

All instructors at the Academy are fully licenced, DBS checked, and first aid qualified. They also attend annual child safeguarding seminars to ensure a safe learning environment for all students.

Tae Kwon Do, which translates to 'the way of hand and foot', is primarily known for its wide array of kicking techniques. The martial art originated in Korea and is often described as the art of kicking and punching or the art of unarmed combat.
