Movement Imparfait Inc. is an inclusive yoga studio located in the vibrant neighbourhood of Hochelaga in Montreal. Founded and directed by Franoise Lapointe, who transitioned from a career in communication to the world of yoga, the studio aims to celebrate movement in all its forms. The studio offers a variety of classes, including yoga, pilates, barre, dance, meditation, and fitness training, welcoming people of all body shapes and sizes, including children and seniors.
The focus at Movement Imparfait is not on achieving a perfect physical appearance but on feeling more free and joyful in movement. The studio values movement for the sake of well-being and pleasure, rather than performance. Batrice Ayotte, a kinesiologist, yoga teacher, and neuroscience graduate, is responsible for programming and teaching at the studio. In addition to in-person classes at their location on 3320 Ontario Street East, Movement Imparfait also offers a virtual platform for online classes. Jess Dunn, the head of professor training, plays a crucial role in developing a unique teacher training program set to launch in the fall of 2024.
