Movement Space is a Classical Pilates Studio located in Cowes, Victoria. The studio is dedicated to honouring the original work of Joseph Pilates and follows the principles of Contrology. As one of the small number of studios in the world that offers true Contrology, Movement Space is committed to running the studio just as Joseph Pilates did.
At Movement Space, clients have the opportunity to be taught by Naomi, a highly experienced 3rd Generation Pilates teacher. With her expertise and knowledge, clients can trust that they will receive top-quality instruction and guidance throughout their Pilates journey.
The studio offers a range of classes to cater to different preferences and needs. Open Studio Classes are held in a small group setting, allowing clients to learn the “system” of Contrology at their own pace. In these classes, clients work through their own personalised exercise programme using the traditional order of the mat and/or reformer created by Joseph Pilates. Additional exercises on other apparatus are also introduced to enhance the workout.
For a more individualised experience, clients can opt for private classes with Naomi. These 50-minute sessions are ideal for refining existing programmes, coaching during skill development, or addressing specific health or injury concerns. Private classes can be scheduled outside the Open Studio schedule, providing clients with flexibility and personalised attention.
Movement Space is equipped with all the classical Pilates equipment manufactured based on Joseph Pilates' original specifications. This includes the Reformer, Mat, Wunda Chair, Cadillac, Spine Corrector, Ladder Barrel, Baby Chair, and Pedipole. By using these authentic pieces of equipment, clients can truly experience the Contrology method and its benefits.
For those who are new to Movement Space, the studio offers a Starter Package. Priced at $150, this package includes 4x 30-minute private lessons to be completed within 2 weeks. During these private lessons, clients will be introduced to the Contrology System and have a programme designed specifically for their needs and goals. On the last private lesson, clients will have the opportunity to join a studio class before or after to familiarise themselves with the studio environment.
