Located in Calgary, MUTEKI STRONG ACADEMY is a gym founded by Russell Peel, a highly experienced and decorated martial artist. The name MUTEKI translates from Japanese to mean “no enemy” or “invincible,” reflecting the gym's commitment to helping individuals become strong and unbeatable in both body and mind.
Russell Peel's journey into the world of martial arts began in 2002 during a transformative adventure in Japan that lasted over a decade. During his time in Japan, Russell trained with world-class coaches and high-level professional athletes from organizations such as Pride FC, K1, and the UFC. This invaluable experience allowed him to achieve numerous accolades as a martial artist and fighter, as well as gain priceless knowledge and skills to pass on to the next generation of athletes.
Upon returning to Canada in 2013, Russell established himself as one of the top personal trainers and coaches in Calgary, catering to a diverse clientele of MMA fighters, athletes, and powerlifters. As a coach, Russell has achieved significant success, including securing a National Title and Two Championship Belts in MMA, along with multiple gold medal finishes in powerlifting competitions.
