About

Drive trails and camping. Numinbah Valley Adventure Trails offers an authentic Aussie bush camping experience in the picturesque Numinbah Valley, just a short 45-minute drive from Surfers Paradise.

Previously a working cattle property, Yowgurrabah is now open to the public for camping. The property is surrounded by beautiful bushland and is conveniently located near public bush walking tracks and a local caf. However, please note that horse riding is no longer offered on the property due to the increase in insurance costs.

The owners of Numinbah Valley Adventure Trails, David Lyons and Kimberley, have been operating the business since 1987-88. David established the business upon his return from working in central and north-west Queensland. With falling cattle prices and the threat of drought, he needed an alternative source of income to maintain Yowgurrabah, a 2500-acre cattle property owned by his family.

Kimberley, who was raised on a farm in Gilston, joined Numinbah Valley Adventure Trails as a junior and has remained dedicated to the business ever since. With a passion for horses, she competes in pony club, eventing, and western pleasure with her horses Prince and Tex. Both David and Kimberley are actively involved in the local rural fire brigade, with David serving as the training and First officer and Kimberley as the Third officer and V C E rep. They are both experienced in horse-related activities and hold various horse qualifications, including A H R C level 1.

In addition to their dedication to horses, David and Kimberley have completed a diploma in business management and regularly attend vet and horse welfare courses. David is also a workplace trainer and assessor, allowing him to train students in horse-related activities. Kimberley is currently studying an associate diploma in equine studies to further her knowledge and expertise.

Outside their passion for horses, David and Kimberley enjoy adventure races, four-wheel-drive trails, and camping, which reflects in the experience they offer at Numinbah Valley Adventure Trails. Visitors can expect an authentic Aussie bush camping experience surrounded by stunning nature and the warm hospitality of the owners.

In conclusion, Numinbah Valley Adventure Trails provides visitors with an opportunity to experience the natural beauty of Yowgurrabah, a previously inaccessible working cattle property in the Numinbah Valley. With bush camping available and a proximity to local bush walking tracks, visitors can enjoy an authentic Aussie camping experience. Although horse riding is no longer offered, the owners, David and Kimberley, bring their extensive experience and love for horses to the business. Their commitment to horse welfare, as well as their qualifications in horse-related activities, ensure a high quality of service for visitors.

Book your stay at Numinbah Valley Adventure Trails for a truly unique and memorable camping experience in the heart of the Gold Coast's stunning natural surroundings.
