The Pauanui Surf Life Saving Club, located in Pauanui, New Zealand, has been proudly serving its community since its establishment in 1972. With an unwavering commitment to saving lives, the club actively manages and provides lifeguard patrols and programmes at Pauanui Beach during summer, aiming to prevent drowning incidents. Over the years, the club has saved countless lives and continues to prioritise the safety and well-being of beachgoers.

The Trust Waikato Pauanui Surf Life Saving Club fosters an inclusive environment for the promotion and development of Surf Life Saving activities. The club encourages participation and achievement in all aspects of Surf Life Saving, including lifeguarding, lifeguard development, Junior Surf, and surf sports. By actively engaging its members, the club ensures a thriving and vibrant Surf Life Saving community in Pauanui.

As an incorporated society under the Incorporated Societies Act 1908, the Trust Waikato Pauanui Surf Life Saving Club is governed and managed by a dedicated group of volunteers. The club operates under the guidance of volunteer committees overseen by an executive volunteer board. This structure allows for effective decision-making and ensures the smooth running of the club's operations.

Currently, the club boasts approximately 60 volunteer lifeguards who diligently patrol Pauanui Beach every weekend from December to February, as well as during Easter and Labour weekends. These dedicated individuals undergo extensive training and uphold the highest standards of professionalism to ensure the safety of beach visitors.

The board of directors, comprised of community leaders and passionate individuals, plays a vital role in the club's success. Led by President Rodney Lewis, the board consists of individuals from various disciplines, including Vice President Andrew Gibson, Club Captain Stella Reid and Sam Cox, Secretary Georgina Bond, Surf Sports representative George Reid, Junior Surf representatives Maya Cosford and Jack McAnulty, Treasurer Gavin Haddon, and Lifeguard Development representative Macayla Lock. Together, they bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to guide the club's activities and initiatives.

Membership with the Pauanui Surf Life Saving Club is open to all individuals and families who share a passion for water safety and community service. Membership fees vary depending on the category, and early bird discounts are available until November 22, 2022. Active Lifeguard, Junior Surf, Trainee/Rookie Guard, and Associate member are some membership options. New members are required to register with Surf Life Saving NZ through the SLSNZ website before completing the Pauanui Club membership form and paying their fees.

Returning members can easily renew their membership through the club's website.

By joining the Pauanui Surf Life Saving Club, members become part of a close-knit community dedicated to saving lives and promoting water safety.
