About

Birmingham & Midland Marine Services Limited is proud to offer RYA powerboating training for individuals who want to gain the confidence and skills to handle a powerboat safely. Whether you're using powerboats for leisure, work, or in connection with another activity such as sailing or rescue, our club has a course that suits your needs.

Our commercial training version of the RYA Powerboat Level 2 course is perfect for clients like the Environment Agency, Search & Rescue, and Safety & Rescue sector clients. This version is specifically tailored for those operating on Category 'C' and 'D' Waters or those who require a commercial endorsement upon their license. Our goal is to provide you with the knowledge and expertise necessary to excel in your field.

Our two-day entry level course is designed to equip you with the skills and background knowledge needed to drive a powerboat. It also serves as a foundation for the International Certificate of Competence (ICC). Additionally, this course is one of the prerequisites for our 'Inland Waters Rescue Boat Operators' certification.

When it comes to commercial powerboat training, we operate with a low instructor to candidate ratio, ensuring that you receive personalised attention and instruction. We have a variety of vessels available, from centre console RIB's to planing / displacement landing craft. Our training can be tailored to your specific requirements, and we cover important elements such as shallow-water drive, two-stroke outboard considerations, bank-launches, and casualty management.

Please note that bookings for our powerboat courses are 'closed courses' only, with a maximum of three candidates per vessel or booking and a maximum of six candidates per two-day course. This allows us to provide a focused and effective learning environment.

For more information on training requirements and guidelines from the Maritime & Coastguard Agency, please visit the following link: MSN 1853 (M) Amendment 1 M Notice Template – MSF 5011.

Join Birmingham & Midland Marine Services Limited for an incredible powerboating experience and gain the skills you need to navigate the water with confidence. Don't miss out on this opportunity to enhance your powerboating abilities!
