The Royal Leamington Spa Canoe Club is thrilled to invite interested individuals to participate in their Recreational Adult Session. If you're looking to dip your toes into the world of kayaking or are just starting out, this is the perfect opportunity for you. Over the course of 4 x 2-hour river sessions and 1 x 1-hour pool session, you'll be guided through the Paddle UK Start and Discover awards. These awards are endorsed by the UK's paddle sports governing body and will equip you with essential knowledge and skills to navigate the water safely.
By joining this course, you'll learn how to select and utilize equipment properly, understand key paddling concepts, and develop the confidence needed to advance to the next certification level. Both the Start and Discover certificates are included in the course fee, making it a great value for those eager to enhance their kayaking abilities. Plus, for individuals aiming for the Discover certificate, there will be a supplementary £6.50 registration fee payable to British Canoeing.
The Royal Leamington Spa Canoe Club will supply all necessary equipment, including boats, paddles, buoyancy aids, and helmets. Participants are encouraged to bring along a wetsuit or warm layers, a fleece, as well as snacks and drinks to keep their energy levels up during the sessions.
