“Retro Dance Divas” is a vibrant and dynamic dance school located in Burleigh Heads, Australia. Catering to a fun and friendly community of like-minded individuals who have a passion for retro music from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and beyond, Retro Dance Divas offers a unique dance experience that combines joyful energy, a sense of community, and the opportunity to groove to iconic tunes.

Led by the passionate instructors, Deb Chalmers and Debra King, Retro Dance Divas focuses on creating a supportive environment that fosters both physical and mental well-being. Their classes are designed to not only provide a great workout but also to boost self-confidence and create lasting friendships.

Retro Dance Divas offers a variety of classes, including daytime and nighttime jazz classes, as well as tap classes. These classes are suitable for beginner to intermediate levels and cater to women of all ages. The classes feature sing-along songs from different eras and incorporate elements of dance fitness, warm-up exercises, basic dance techniques, and terminology, as well as fun choreographed routines.

One unique aspect of Retro Dance Divas is the opportunity to participate in flashmobs, performances, and private/corporate workshops upon request. This gives students the chance to showcase their newfound dance skills and spread the joy of retro dance to a wider audience.

The Retro Dance Divas studio is conveniently located in Burleigh Heads and also offers classes in Tugun. The studio is equipped with all the necessary facilities to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable dance experience.

Deb Chalmers, one of the instructors at Retro Dance Divas, has a lifelong passion for dance. With years of experience, she has completed examinations in jazz, tap, ballet, theatrical, and acrobatics. Deb has also taught dance in various schools and opened her own dance studio before creating Retro Dance Divas.

Debra King, another instructor at Retro Dance Divas, began dancing at a young age and quickly discovered her love for performing. With a background in ballet, tap, jazz, and contemporary dance, she has competed in local Eisteddfods and pursued a full-time dance course at QUT.
