Ventus Sailing Club is excited to announce the annual Round the Island Race, a thrilling event that attracts sailors from across the globe. With over 1,400 boats and 15,000 sailors participating, this race is one of the largest yacht races worldwide. It offers a unique opportunity for seasoned sailors to compete alongside newcomers in a high-energy, competitive environment.
The race spans three action-packed days. Participants will kick things off with a practice day on Friday, sailing from Hamble to Cowes. Saturday is race day, with yachts setting off from Cowes and navigating their way around the Isle of Wight, passing iconic landmarks like the Needles Lighthouse and St. Catherine's Point. After the race, sailors can look forward to unwinding at the Race Village with refreshments and live music. Sunday marks the return sail from Cowes back to Hamble, wrapping up an unforgettable weekend on the water.
