With a membership of over 1000 athletes, Rugby & Northampton AC competes in Track & Field, Cross Country, and Road Running at local, regional, and national levels. The club prides itself on being inclusive and welcoming to athletes, coaches, officials, and volunteers of all abilities. With over 50 coaches and 30 officials, the club provides ample support to athletes, helping them achieve their personal goals, whether that's participating in a local fun run or competing at the highest level.

The club utilises two main training venues, the athletic track at Moulton College in Northampton and the athletic track adjacent to the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Sports Centre in Rugby. Both venues offer excellent facilities for training sessions, allowing athletes to fully develop their skills. All athletes, coaches, and officials are covered by UKA Insurance, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Rugby & Northampton AC has a rich history, as it resulted from the merger of two former clubs, Rugby & District Athletic Club and Northampton Phoenix Athletic Club, both with over 100 years of history. The former club, Rugby & District Athletic Club, traces its roots back to the establishment of British Thomson-Houston, an engineering company formed in 1894.
