RYA Level 1 - Summer 2024 Learn to Sail Package

Join Tamworth Sailing Club for a thrilling journey on the water with the upcoming RYA Level 1 course. Starting from the 30th of April 2024, this course spans over four Tuesday evenings and is tailored for beginners looking to dive into the world of sailing. Participants will master the art of sailing in various directions and grasp essential skills such as launching and recovering a sailboat. The goal at the end of the course is for each individual to sail independently in light winds, earning them the prestigious Level 1 certificate.

With a teaching ratio of one instructor to two students, you can expect a hands-on and personalized learning experience. The course schedule from 6 pm to around 10 pm offers ample time to practice practical skills on the water. Theory sessions may involve some homework or reading from the RYA Handbook provided to broaden your knowledge base. Safety remains a paramount concern, requiring all participants to wear buoyancy aids both on jetties and while sailing. It's important to share any emergency contacts, medication details, or existing injuries for a secure learning atmosphere.

For a fee of £125, you'll secure your spot in the Level 1 course, inclusive of certification and temporary individual membership to the club. This membership grants you access to our sailing facilities even after the course concludes, allowing you to further hone your newfound skills.
