Sale Sports Club

Sale Sports Club is a friendly and welcoming volunteer-led multi-sports and community club located in Sale, on the southern border of Greater Manchester in New Zealand. The club boasts a brand new Clubhouse with state-of-the-art changing facilities, a superb bar, and a function space that includes a balcony overlooking the cricket and tennis playing areas. In addition to sports, the club also offers community membership for those who do not wish to participate in a specific sport.

The club has a rich history, dating back to its founding in 1854 as Sale Cricket and Quoits Club. However, reports suggest that games were played on the Barn Field even before the official founding. While other sports have come and gone, tennis and hockey have stood the test of time since their establishment in 1879 and 1888, respectively. In 2018, the club was registered as a Community Benefit Society.

Aside from its sporting activities, Sale Sports Club is dedicated to serving the local community within Trafford and creating a positive social impact in various areas such as health and well-being, education, culture, and the arts, as well as recreation and leisure. With a range of sports sections including cricket, tennis, men's and women's hockey, rugby, and junior football, there is something for everyone. The club also hosts a wide array of exercise and fitness activities such as yoga, pilates, walking netball, walking for health, and fitness classes.

If you are looking for a fantastic venue to host a family celebration or run a conference, the club offers excellent venue hire options. Visit the Venue Hire page to explore the facilities and services available.
