Shaolin Kung Fu - Gao Can Mun Nam Pai Chuan is a renowned martial arts school located in Manchester, UK. The school is dedicated to the practise and teachings of Gao Can Mun Nam Pai Chuan, a kung fu system that traces its roots back to the Shaolin monasteries in China. With several locations across the UK and overseas, the Manchester branch of the school offers a structured syllabus comprising both traditional and modern elements.
At the heart of our training approach is the belief that martial arts should develop not just physical strength and endurance, but also mental fortitude. We strive to equip our students with a deep understanding of the system's philosophy, ensuring that their practical skills are firmly rooted in this foundation. The curriculum at Shaolin Kung Fu - Gao Can Mun Nam Pai Chuan encompasses a range of disciplines, including sparring, traditional forms (both solo and partner), weapons training, chi gung (energy cultivation), and combat/self-defence sequences. This comprehensive approach ensures that students receive a well-rounded and holistic martial arts education.
The school is proud to be registered with the British Council for Chinese Martial Arts (BCCMA), the central governing body for Chinese martial arts in the UK. As members of the BCCMA, we are able to provide comprehensive insurance cover for all our students and instructors.
In terms of student progression, we offer regular gradings where students have the opportunity to advance to the next level through hard work and dedication. Our black belt grading is a highly prestigious accomplishment which requires passing eight grades before attaining the coveted black belt.
For those interested in joining our school, we offer flexible pricing options. The class fee is 8 for adults and 6 for juniors per class. Annual membership, which is separate from class fees, is not mandatory until your fourth class. The cost for adult membership is 35 per year, while juniors pay 30 per year.
Gradings, which provide the opportunity to progress to the next belt level, range from 25-40 for adults and 25-35 for juniors. Uniforms are not required until the first grading, after a minimum of three months training, and cost between 30-35 depending on size, with an additional postage fee. New belts can be purchased for 4-5.
