About
Founded in Sheffield, the Sheffield Bridge Club is a hub for bridge enthusiasts to come together and enjoy the game. With a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere, the club offers a variety of sessions to cater to players of all skill levels.
The club hosts multiple weekly duplicate bridge sessions, ensuring that players have plenty of opportunities to play and improve their skills. From Monday afternoons to Saturday afternoons, there is a session for everyone. The Tuesday afternoon session is particularly ideal for less experienced players, and those with less than a 9 National Grading Scheme (NGS) should only play if partnering an inexperienced player.
In addition to regular sessions, the Sheffield Bridge Club also organises special events throughout the year. These events, such as match-pointed pairs and team competitions, bring together members for a fun and challenging bridge experience. The club takes pride in its participation in the Yorkshire (F2F) League for Teams of Eight, with three teams representing the club in the current season.
For those who prefer to play online, the Sheffield Bridge Club has members who participate in Bridge Club Live and Bridge Base Online. These platforms offer real-time bridge games with players from around the world, allowing members to enjoy the game at any time and from any location.
The club understands the importance of health and safety, especially in the current climate. While most Covid-related restrictions have been lifted, the Sheffield Bridge Club encourages members to refrain from attending if feeling unwell, especially if suffering from Covid or other respiratory infections. To ensure the well-being of everyone, the club maintains good ventilation within the building and provides hand sanitisers for players.
Whether you're a beginner or an experienced player, the Sheffield Bridge Club welcomes you with open arms. The club offers classes and resources for those looking to learn the game or improve their skills. Regardless of your level, you can find a friendly and supportive environment at the Sheffield Bridge Club, where you can enjoy the game and connect with fellow bridge enthusiasts.
