Shihan Mark Tyson

Shihan Mark Tyson is a renowned Karate school based in Tamworth, Australia. With over 35 years of experience in Kyokushin Karate and other Martial Arts, Shihan Mark Tyson is recognised as one of the top instructors in the country. The Senior Instructor at the Tamworth Dojo is Senpai Steven Hill, a former State and National Champion.

At Shihan Mark Tyson, they offer classes for beginners to advanced students, both children and adults. Their classes are known for their high discipline, strong motivation, and well-focused confident students. They specialise in teaching traditional Kyokushin Karate and Self Defence techniques.

The Dojo is located at 74 Belmore street, right next to the Family Hotel. They have regular class schedules throughout the week. On Mondays, they have classes for children from 5pm till 6pm, followed by adult classes from 6pm till 7. 30pm.

Tuesdays are dedicated to children's classes from 5pm till 6pm and intermediate classes from 6pm till 7pm. Wednesday and Thursday follow a similar schedule with children's classes from 5pm till 6pm and adult classes from 6pm till 7pm.

If you are interested in joining their training, you can either watch a class to get an idea of how they structure their training or join in straight away. Shihan Mark Tyson emphasises that they will not pressure you or your children to participate but encourages you to join in as an introduction to their dojo and the first step of your karate training journey. All you need to do is arrive before the start of the class, speak to the instructor, and they will allow you to participate. Comfortable appropriate clothing such as tracksuit pants and a t-shirt are recommended, along with a water bottle for hydration during and after class.

Shihan Mark Tyson also offers seminars, where Shihan Mark Tyson himself can visit your Dojo to hold a seminar. These seminars cover a wide variety of applications related to training and full-contact kumite. The length of the seminars can range from 3 to 6 hours, depending on your request.
