About
“Shut Up & Dance” is a vibrant dance school located in Porirua, New Zealand. It offers a unique and fun approach to fitness through dance-cardio classes that are suitable for all levels of experience. Whether you're a seasoned dancer or have two left feet, the classes at Shut Up & Dance are designed to provide a judgement-free and inclusive space for everyone to enjoy.
The dance classes at Shut Up & Dance are inspired by iconic music videos, musicals, and movies. Each class focuses on learning a dance routine, ensuring that participants not only have a great time but also get a good workout. The school believes in the concept of “accidental exercise,” where attendees are able to channel their inner dancer and sweat with a smile on their face.
One of the unique aspects of Shut Up & Dance is their emphasis on creating a community that embraces clumsiness and celebrates individuality. The mirrors are covered, the doors are closed, and the volume is turned up so that everyone can let loose and have fun without worrying about their dance skills. The school believes that dance is for everyone, and no prior experience or certification is required to join their classes.
To make booking classes convenient, Shut Up & Dance offers an app that can be downloaded on both Apple and Android devices. This allows students to book and manage their classes with just a few taps. Pricing options are credit-based, with each credit corresponding to one class. Students can even share their credits with friends, although it's important to note that both individuals must attend the class if booking is done on behalf of someone else.
Shut Up & Dance offers various pricing and membership options, including introductory offers and credit packs, which can be purchased on their website. Additionally, the school frequently runs specials and promotions for students to take advantage of.
The school operates in multiple locations, including community centres, school halls, and fitness studios throughout Wellington. They also offer online classes for those who prefer to dance from the comfort of their own homes.
Shut Up & Dance prides itself on being a low-pressure, judgement-free, and fun way to stay fit and active.
