S J School of Dance

S J School of Dance is a vibrant and talented dance school located in St Neots, Cambridgeshire. Founded in 2005 by Principal Sara Purssell, the school has grown over the years and now offers a wide range of classes for kids from 3 years to adults.

The school prides itself on offering classes in various dance styles, including RAD & ISTD Ballet, ISTD Tap, ISTD Modern, Jazz, Lyrical, Streetdance, UDO Graded Street, and Musical Theatre. This diverse range of classes allows students to explore different dance styles and develop their skills in a fun and supportive environment.

The school is based at its own dance studio, SJ Studios, conveniently located on West Street near Waitrose. The studio provides a dedicated space for students to learn and practise their dance routines. With over 40 classes offered each week, there are plenty of opportunities for students to find classes that suit their interests and schedules.

One unique aspect of SJ School of Dance is its affiliation with the United Dance Organisation (UDO). Students have the opportunity to gain accreditation in Street Dance through the UDO Street Dance Syllabus. The school offers Street Dance exams for students and even a “Street Dance Teacher Training Qualification” that allows students to become qualified dance teachers in the Street Dance world.

The Principal of SJ School of Dance, Sara Purssell, brings a wealth of experience and qualifications to the school. She is a D. D. E Qualified ISTD & UDO Dance Teacher, with training from renowned institutions such as Bodywork Company and The Dance College.

Sara is qualified to teach Modern Jazz, Lyrical, Tap, and Ballet to an advanced standard, and is also a qualified UDO Street Dance Teacher.

Classes at SJ School of Dance also offer opportunities for students to take exams in Ballet, Tap, and Modern through the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) and the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD). These exams provide students with a solid foundation in technique and help to push them to a professional standard.

To make enrolment and communication easier for parents and students, the school utilises an online registration system through DanceStudio Pro. This allows parents and students to register for classes, pay tuition, and communicate with the SJ Team. The school also encourages the use of the DanceStudio Pro app for convenience and further information.
