About
Nestled in the heart of Varanasi, the Somit Yoga Education Training Society stands as a beacon of holistic wellness and community spirit. This tranquil haven offers a unique blend of traditional yoga practices and a compassionate initiative uplifting the lives of Varanasi's underprivileged children. Founded with the vision to provide not just physical well-being, but also to infuse warmth and education in the lives of street and slum children, this center has been making transformative strides since its inception in 2004.
At Somit Yoga, guests can immerse themselves in the serene ambiance of a traditional yoga studio that offers a wide range of classes suitable for all levels. Whether a seasoned practitioner or a curious beginner, everyone is welcomed with open arms. The knowledgeable teachers guide participants through invigorating sessions aimed at fostering inner peace, physical fitness, and mental clarity. What truly sets this center apart is its dedication to utilize proceeds to enhance the educational prospects and overall lives of the local impoverished children.
The vibrant community at Somit Yoga is also deeply committed to environmental sustainability. Every three months, children and volunteers come together to plant trees, fostering a sense of responsibility and love for the planet. This unique approach integrates life skills with educational endeavors, ensuring that the children not only gain academic knowledge but also grow with strong moral and environmental values. The center's informal and friendly atmosphere ensures that children feel safe, happy, and motivated to learn and develop their personalities.
Future plans aim at expanding this haven to accommodate more children and provide vocational training, empowering them to secure a brighter future. Volunteering opportunities are always available for those eager to contribute their time, skills, and compassion. Volunteers become an integral part of the family, sharing joys, teaching skills, and making lasting impacts on the lives of these children.
Somit Yoga Education Training Society isn't just a place to practice yoga; it's a sanctuary where kindness, education, and community thrive harmoniously. By supporting this initiative, one not only nurtures their own well-being but also becomes a part of a larger mission to uplift and transform lives in Varanasi.
