Southerness Golf Club

Tom here, just wanting to share a bit about Southerness Golf Club in Dumfries. If you've not been, it's definitely worth a visit. It's a proper gem, with cracking views of the coast and a course that’ll test your game, no matter your skill level.

Started back in '47, Southerness has grown into a spot that golfers around here really love. Sitting by the Solway Firth, the surroundings are unreal. Whether you're into sea views or the rolling hills, the setting is bang on for a great day of golf.

The course itself is top-notch, 18 holes that’ll keep you on your toes. It’s well-thought-out, with some tricky shots and clever bunkers. Perfect for anyone from novices to the pros - there’s a challenge for everyone.

The clubhouse is spot on too, proper cosy with stunning views. Great place to unwind with a meal or a pint after a round. Everyone always ends up sharing stories and having a laugh about the day's play.

Don’t forget to check out the pro shop. Plenty of gear, from new clubs to swish attire, and the staff are dead helpful. Plus, there's top practise facilities – a driving range and a putting green, perfect for honing your skills.

What I love about Southerness is the friendly vibe. Whether you’re a pro or just play for fun, you’ll feel right at home. It's a fantastic place to soak in the scenery, face a good challenge, and enjoy some great company.
