South Windsor Skating Club

The South Windsor Skating Club, located in Windsor, is dedicated to providing a fun and safe environment for individuals of all ages to discover and excel in the sport of skating. With a mission to inspire the community to embrace the love of skating and to help each individual reach their full potential, the club offers a variety of programs to cater to different skill levels and interests.

Registration for new skaters opens from January to March, with the Spring Registration for all programs set to open on March 1st. The club's Fall/Winter and Spring Programs are held at the Capri Recreation Complex, while the summer program takes place at the Vollmer Complex in LaSalle. The club offers programs such as CanPowerSkate, CanSkate, StarSkate, Teen & Adult Skate, and PreCanSkate, catering to skaters of all levels.

In addition to regular skating programs, the South Windsor Skating Club also organizes events and fundraisers to engage the community and support the club's initiatives. Recent events include the Spring 2024 Schedule release, Anna's Flowers Christmas Fundraiser, and the Fall/Winter 2023-24 Schedule Announcement. For teen and adult skaters, the club offers a special program aimed at learning the basics of skating while promoting a healthy and active lifestyle. The program includes group instruction and affordable pricing options, with discounts available for parents of children enrolled in full-season programs. It is mandatory for participants to wear CSA approved hockey helmets for safety during the sessions.

The CanSkate program at the South Windsor Skating Club is recognized by Skate Canada as the national Learn to Skate program. Led by certified professional coaches and program assistants, the program focuses on developing fundamental skating skills in a group setting. Skaters are grouped by age and ability, earning badges as they progress through levels and setting a strong foundation for various skating disciplines.
