About
Established in 1989 in the vibrant city of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Spandan Sanskrutik Trust is not just a dance school but a sanctuary for the rich and diverse folk culture of India. Beginning with a small group of passionate individuals, Spandan has grown to become a beacon of cultural preservation, spreading its wings to Surat, Baroda, and even neighboring states, reaching out to resident Gujaratis and other enthusiasts.
Spandan, meaning 'Heartbeats', was founded on the premise that culture should be as constant and pure as a heartbeat. Specializing in folk dance, ballet, drama, music, and entertainment, Spandan is dedicated to keeping the essence of Indian folk arts alive, particularly those from Gujarat. This dedication is evident in our annual shows, each themed differently, bringing to life the vibrant tales of India's storied past.
Much more than just an academy, Spandan Sanskrutik Trust thrives as a community. It's a place where unity in diversity is celebrated, where every dance step and beat of the drum tells a tale of chivalry, beauty, and communal harmony. It’s a journey through time, presenting folk culture's mirror image, reflecting equality, hospitality, and love for nature.
Join Spandan and become part of a legacy that transcends language, race, and geographical boundaries, all while fostering a love for the extraordinary folk traditions of India. Whether a casual learner or a dedicated performer, there’s a place for everyone in this warm, welcoming cultural family.
