About
Staffordshire University KDS, led by Mark Hallam, is where serious fun meets martial arts in Stoke-on-Trent. As part of the Keele University Athletic Union Karate Club, this crew sticks to the classic Shotokan Karate wisdom passed down by Mitsusuke Harada Sensei MBE, a direct student of Gichin Funakoshi O'Sensei.
Mark’s mission? Making real-world karate moves second nature. Training's open to adults, and you’ll find an inviting and friendly vibe. Whether you're a seasoned pro or just curious, everyone works at their own speed. No fitness levels needed – just show up and start building.
New to karate? No worries! Regular beginner courses get you grounded in the basics. Join in the action every Tuesday from 18:30 to 20:00 and Thursday from 19:00 to 20:30 at the Gymnasium. Skilled instructors like Professor Anand Pandyan, Arica Willis-Blackwood, and Dr Theocharis Kyriacou are ready to guide you.
Find them at The Sports Centre, Keele University, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire. Staffordshire University KDS isn’t just about learning karate; it’s about mastering it and having a good time doing so. They also run cool events and courses to keep everyone’s skills sharp.
So, if you're up for some karate chops and kicks, Staffordshire University KDS under Mark’s leadership is the place to be. Everyone's welcome, whether you're kicking off your karate journey or enhancing your skills in a fun, friendly atmosphere.
