What dance classes and styles do you offer?

We offer classes for children (ages 3 to 10), teens (11 to 17), adults (18+), and mixed ages (8+). Styles include tap, ballet, urban street, Pointe, Greek, Classical, Limbering, Musical Theatre, Performance, and Dance Fit, plus private lessons.

Where do you train and what happens during the year?

You can find us at Avonmouth Dance Studio, Imperial Cham. We also run events like a students end of year showcase and presentation day, and students can take part in a festival, display or our show every two years to raise money for charity.

How do I join and what are the class costs?

We encourage correct footwear and there is no set uniform or exams for most classes. There are no big term fees, and classes are free for Ukrainian refugees, and you can ring for more details.

Stepping Out | Contemporary Dance

Stepping Out Dance is a vibrant and inclusive dance school located in Avonmouth, Bristol. With a strong emphasis on family and community, Stepping Out welcomes students of all ages and abilities, including those with special needs and non-able bodied individuals.

The dance classes at Stepping Out cater to a wide range of interests and styles. For the youngest dancers, there are Tiny Tots classes for ages 0 to 4, where they can enjoy a combination of song and dance. Older children, aged 6 to 10 years, can choose from classes such as Tap 2, Ballet 2, and Urban Street. While teenagers, between the ages of 10 and 16, can explore more advanced levels of ballet and urban street styles. Adults, aged 17 and above, have the opportunity to join tap, ballet, dance fit, and mixed ages classes.

Stepping Out also offers private lessons for students aged 3 and above, allowing for one-on-one attention and personalised instruction. For those interested in a more specific dance form, the school offers Greek Classical, Limbering, and Musical Theatre classes.

The fully advanced Tap 5 class is for students who have mastered the previous levels and are ready for intricate combinations and advanced terminology.
