Sunshine Coast Golf Centre, located in Warana on the Sunshine Coast, is a golf facility that offers a range of services to help golfers of all skill levels improve their game. Founded by Atomu and Alicia Watanabe, the centre aims to provide a personalised approach to golf, ensuring that every individual reaches their true potential.

Atomu Watanabe, who began coaching under the guidance of Grant Field, the current golf coach for Cam Smith, has over six years of experience in coaching at Pelican Waters GC. During his time there, he developed a successful junior programme with 10 different skill levels, attracting over 90 juniors who competed and learned every weekend. Atomu also had a passion for introducing beginners and ladies to the game, and has assisted thousands of B and C grade golfers in breaking through their perceived barriers.

However, Atomu noticed a common problem among golfers – the lack of opportunity to practise what they were taught, or receiving insufficient feedback during practise sessions. When the COVID-19 pandemic struck in 2020, Atomu lost his coaching contract at Pelican Waters GC, and made the difficult decision to sell the family home in order to fund the establishment of Sunshine Coast Golf Centre.

In August 2020, Sunshine Coast Golf Centre became the first 24/7 golf facility in Queensland, offering golfers the chance to practise at any time convenient for them. The centre now boasts a team of six contracted coaches who are dedicated to growing the game and continuously improving their coaching techniques. Notably, the centre collaborates with mental performance coach Jamie Milne from JMT to effectively communicate the complexities of the game in a simple manner.

Sunshine Coast Golf Centre has revolutionised the traditional driving range experience by providing golfers with the tools and facilities to improve their game. Conveniently located in Warana, just 15 minutes away from Maroochydore and Caloundra, the centre offers a wide range of programmes backed by a money back guarantee. If a golfer does not see improvement or is not satisfied with their experience, they can request a refund.

The centre offers individual lessons, which can be booked online, and each lesson lasts for 45–60 minutes. During the session, the golfer, and coach will identify the desired outcome and provide the necessary information and drills to develop the skills required to achieve it. These lessons are priced at $150.

In addition to lessons, Sunshine Coast Golf Centre also provides a 24/7 practise facility. Traditional practise sessions can often be mindless, but at this centre, golfers have the opportunity to simulate playing a full 18 holes in just 45 minutes, and can receive guidance and analysis of their swing to understand the root cause of any issues. The centre also offers a variety of programmes aimed at improving various aspects of the game, such as the right mindset to take on the course.
