Sussex Mermaid School, located in Lancing, is the perfect place to make your mermaid or merman dreams come true. Whether you're a child or an adult, as long as you can swim confidently in deep water, you can learn to swim like a mermaid. The minimum age to join our school is 7, and there is no age limit! Our experienced teacher, Ann Dieckmann, is a trained swimming teacher and mermaid instructor who follows all the guidelines developed by Fin2Fit and the Royal Life Saving Society.

We offer a range of options for mermaid parties and experiences. Children's parties start with a safety briefing and a swimming test to ensure everyone's safety. The party includes over an hour of pool fun, with everyone choosing their own tail and taking photos poolside. Each child will receive a mermaid quiz and sticker to take home.

The cost of a party for 8 children is 225, and you can decide between a mermaid themed cake to share or individual cakes. Our parties are a great way to celebrate birthdays or just to have fun with friends.

For hen parties, Sussex Mermaid School offers a unique and unforgettable mermaid experience. You and your mermaids of honour can decide tails from a variety of colours and receive a quick lesson to start flipping around the pool like pros. Capture the memories with glamorous photos and celebrate with a glass of prosecco. It's the perfect way to make your hen weekend in Brighton even more special.

If you're looking for team building activities or just want to have fun with friends, Sussex Mermaid School offers the opportunity to put together a mermaid show or have a mermaid experience. Invite a group of 8 friends for 2 hours of mermaid fun, priced at 195. It's a great way to bond and create lasting memories.

At Sussex Mermaid School, we believe in giving back. All profits from our events and parties support the Zanzibar Schools Project, an initiative set up by Brighton and Hove Soiree Rotary Club. We also support swimming and teaching projects in Zanzibar through our partnership with Brighton Beachside Rotary Club.
