Swindon West End Bowls Club

Swindon West End Bowls Club, located in Swindon, was established in 1926 by a group of men from the Swindon Rail Works. Originally a men-only club, it has now become a mixed club with both men and women participating. The men's team competes in the Wilts, Swindon and District, and Afternoon Triples Leagues, while the ladies team plays in the Swindon and District evening league.

Membership and seasonal fees can be paid as one-off payments or in instalments. First-time bowlers are offered free membership and a shirt for their first year.

Over the years, the club has evolved from a small hut for its clubhouse to a modern facility. The clubhouse now features amenities such as a Skittle Alley, Dart Board, Bar Billiards Table, and Multi-Speaker Sound System with various inputs including Bluetooth. In the winter, the club holds a competitive skittles league on Thursday evenings. On Friday and Saturday nights, the club hosts several skittles teams from the Swindon Leagues. Moreover, they organise various social events throughout the year, such as Quiz Nights, Killer Skittles, Play Your Cards Right, Mr & Mrs, Bullseye, Race Nights, and others, ensuring that members can enjoy a range of activities.

If unsure about joining, individuals can watch a game on a Monday afternoon or any day from Wednesday to Sunday, depending on the fixture, and have a drink at the bar.
