What is the age range for fencing at Sydney Beyond Fencing Club?

We welcome fencers of all ages, from 8 years old to 80+. Fencing is a sport that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and fitness levels.

Is fencing a safe sport?

Yes, fencing is considered to be an extremely safe sport. In fact, it has one of the lowest injury rates among all Olympic sport competitions. Our coaches prioritise safety and provide proper training and equipment to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all fencers.

What are the benefits of fencing?

Fencing offers numerous benefits for both physical and mental well-being. It helps to improve physical fitness, strength, coordination, and flexibility. Additionally, it enhances mental skills such as strategic thinking, adaptation, self-confidence, self-discipline, and decision-making. Fencing is also a great way to make new friends, travel for competitions, and even boost university opportunities.

How do I get started?

It's never too late to start fencing! The best way to get started is by booking a trial lesson with us. Our trial lessons last for 30 minutes and will give you a taste of the sport. All fencing equipment will be provided, so all you need to bring is a water bottle and sports shoes and clothes.
