Oldest indoor bowls clubs in Kent, and we take pride in our rich history. Situated in the coastal resort of Cliftonville, just one mile from Margate, our club offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere to both members and visitors.
Our fully air-conditioned Bowls and Social Centre provides top-notch facilities for all bowling enthusiasts. Our eight rink bowls mat is considered one of the best in Kent, providing an excellent playing surface for our members. We also have a 150 seat restaurant that offers a wide range of delicious breakfasts, lunches, meals, and a popular Sunday carvery. Our restaurant is complemented by a fully stocked bar, where you can enjoy snacks, barista coffees, and teas at club prices.
Thanet Indoor Bowls Club is more than just a bowls club. We also have a vibrant social calendar that includes monthly quizzes and regular dances. Our lounge area provides a cosy and relaxed atmosphere where members can enjoy a coffee and chat with friends and fellow bowlers.
Membership at Thanet Indoor Bowls Club is open to everyone, and we offer a range of memberships to suit different needs. Whether you're a social bowler or looking to compete in our summer or winter leagues, we have the right membership option for you. Additionally, if you're new to bowls, our FREE 'Bowls 4 Free' programme offers four free coaching lessons, including the hire of shoes and bowls, to help you get started.
In addition to our regular activities and membership benefits, we also host a variety of friendly matches and events throughout the year. These fixtures provide opportunities for our members to compete against other bowls clubs and build camaraderie.
Thanet Indoor Bowls Club has a dedicated team of staff and volunteers who ensure that the club runs smoothly and that our members have the best possible experience. Our club secretary, Jan Gregory, leads the team, and we have appointed captains for both the men's and ladies' teams. Brenda Lawrence takes care of competition organisation, while our junior organiser position is currently vacant.
