About

Ski mountaineers and build friendships within the club.

The Alpine Ski Club takes great pride in promoting mountaineering on skis and encouraging good fellowship amongst ski mountaineers. They also strive to promote mountaineering expeditions on ski throughout the world and to enhance knowledge of the mountains in winter. With Stephen Venables, an acclaimed mountaineer and active ski mountaineer, as the club Patron, members can be assured of expert guidance and support.

For those interested in becoming a member, the club offers various resources and benefits. The Alpine Ski Club Training Award is available to provide assistance with training and improving mountain safety, while the Memorial Adventure Fund is dedicated to supporting more adventurous explorations on skis. The club also has a long history of promoting safety in the mountains and offers valuable information and advice on their safety pages.

Social events are a central part of the club's activities. Members have the opportunity to meet and exchange information, as well as plan their next expedition, at the various social events throughout the year. Lecture meetings are held annually in Autumn and Spring, usually in London. The Annual Dinner, a highly anticipated event, takes place in November, alternating between London and a mountain venue in the UK.

Additionally, the club organises an annual Alpine meet open to all members and their guests, along with UK based meets in the autumn.

Joining The Alpine Ski Club means becoming a part of a close-knit community of like-minded and experienced individuals who have a passion for independent ski mountaineering. With a rich history and a wealth of experience amongst its members, the club offers a supportive and welcoming environment for all ski mountaineers. So, whether you're an experienced ski mountaineer looking to connect with fellow enthusiasts or a beginner eager to learn from experts, The Alpine Ski Club is the perfect place to pursue your passion for skiing and mountaineering.
