The Bruntsfield Links Golfing Society, located just 3 miles from the heart of Edinburgh, is the fourth-oldest golf club in the world. Established in 1761, it is known as one of Scotland's most prestigious clubs and holds a rich history within the golfing community. The club is conveniently situated just an hour away from another world-renowned course, The Old Course at St Andrews.
The course itself is a mature parkland-style course, originally designed by Willie Park Jnr and later modified by renowned architects such as Dr Alister MacKenzie, James Braid, and Fred Hawtree. In 2018, the course underwent a significant redevelopment led by Tom MacKenzie of MacKenzie Ebert. This included a thorough review of all bunkering, the remodelling of seven holes, and the addition of three new holes. These enhancements have further enhanced the course's reputation for excellence.
With its excellent quality and design, the Bruntsfield Links Golfing Society was selected as a Qualifying Venue for the Open Championship by the R&A between 2011 and 2015.
