Transported to a different era and felt the joy and energy of the 80s. Marissa Treichel, the creator and director of The Cassettes 80s Dance Classes, has crafted an experience that goes beyond just a dance class.
The Cassettes offers a retro workout for everyone, combining dance and fitness in a fun and exciting way. The journey begins in the week of February 5th, 2024, with a 7-week term of exhilarating dance fitness classes in Byron Bay, Bangalow, Ocean Shores, and Mullumbimby. By joining the early bird special before January 19th, participants can guarantee themselves a feel-good experience to remember.
The dance classes are suitable for beginners to intermediate level dancers and are filled with joy, connexion, and rad choreography. Participants will have the opportunity to learn easy-to-follow, imaginative Cassette choreography set to the sexiest and funnest 80s music, with occasional throwbacks to the 70s, 90s, and even modern tunes. It's a chance to unleash one's inner Cassette and be part of an energetic dance gang.
One unique aspect of The Cassettes is that joining one class grants participants unlimited access to all classes during each 7-week term. This allows individuals to immerse themselves in the world of 80s dance and fitness, with classes available on various days and times to accommodate different schedules. Classes take place on Monday in Mullumbimby at 6:00 pm, Tuesday in Byron Bay at 9:30 am and Bangalow at 5:30 pm, Wednesday in Bangalow at 6:00 pm, and Friday in Ocean Shores at 9:00 am.
For those who prefer a self-care approach to fitness, The Cassettes also offers a Rad Self Care programme with Riss during Term 1 of 2024. This programme provides an opportunity to carve out time for oneself without breaking a sweat and is available for bookings through Byron College.
The Cassettes has garnered praise and positive reviews from participants who have experienced the magic of the classes. Cat Volcov, a Cassette dancer, describes the classes as “magical,” while Cassette dancer Jemima applauds Marissa Treichel's teaching technique, expressing how students can feel her creativity coming through. The safe and encouraging space provided by The Cassettes allows people to not only get fit and learn dance but also express themselves and feel connected.
In addition to regular dance classes, The Cassettes also offers custom-made Cassette earrings and tees, allowing participants to showcase their love for the 80s in style.
Whether it's for fitness, nostalgia, or the desire to be part of an energetic and supportive community, The Cassettes 80s Dance Classes in Byron Bay offers an experience that is truly one-of-a-kind. So why wait? Join The Cassettes and embark on a dance fitness journey like no other.
