Ruby Events Ltd. presents "The Ruby Swim," a premier outdoor swimming event in Wnaka, New Zealand. On Saturday, 26 January 2019, swimmers of all levels can compete in various race distances.
The flagship race, "The Ruby10," is a formidable 10-kilometre swim starting at 7:00 am. It's the only race of its kind on the South Island, with participants expected to finish between 10:00 am and 11:30 am.
For those seeking a shorter challenge, "The Big Ruby" is a 3.8-kilometre swim around Ruby Island, beginning at 9:00 am and wrapping up by 10:40 am.
"The Ruby," a 2.5-kilometre swim starting at 9:15 am, offers cash prizes and ring bling for the fastest swimmers, concluding by 10:25 am.
For a brief yet scenic option, "The Island," a 600-metre swim, starts at 9:40 am, featuring a crossing to Ruby Island and a boat ride back.
Other events include "The Return of the Jetty," a 1.2-kilometre swim starting at 9:40 am, and "Little Gems," a 200-metre swim for kids at 10:30 am. In partnership with M!NT Charitable Trust, “M!NT Ruby” offers an inclusive swim for all abilities.
