Simon Robins, the chief instructor, has been practising Tai Chi for almost 30 years. His personal journey with tai chi began when his body was in poor shape, having experienced numerous injuries. Tai chi served as a way for him to regain fitness and health. However, he soon discovered additional benefits as his mind became calm and still, and his emotions became more stable.
Tai chi became a journey in wisdom for him.
Cher Robins, also a chief instructor, began her martial arts journey as a child. However, a bout of ME/CFS forced her to temporarily put her training on hold. Once she recovered, she started studying yoga, qigong, and finally, tai chi. Cher's passion lies in pushing hands and weapons, but she is particularly intrigued by the internal qualities and energies of the body that allow the movements to become fluid and effortless over time.
As a secondary school teacher, Cher's love of teaching naturally led her to teach tai chi. She takes joy in witnessing her students gain confidence in their bodies, develop strong and supple movement, and become passionate about this ancient art.
The School of Tai Chi Chuan and Internal Arts aims to create a supportive and inclusive environment for all students.
