The TSKF Playford Shotokan Karate Dojo is a well-established martial arts club located in Elizabeth Park, South Australia. As a member of the Traditional Shotokan Karate-Do Federation (TSKF), the club follows the teachings and principles of the Shotokan founder Gichin Funakoshi and the late Master Nakayama of the Japan Karate Association (JKA).
The club is open to people of all ages and skill levels, and offers comprehensive karate training and competition opportunities. Whether you are a beginner looking to learn self-defence techniques or an advanced practitioner aiming to refine your skills, the TSKF Playford Karate Dojo provides a supportive and disciplined environment to help you achieve your goals.
Under the guidance of our chief instructor, Takahashi Shihan, the TSKF Playford Dojo has been providing high-quality karate instruction for over 50 years. Takahashi Shihan, a ninth-degree black belt and recipient of the Order of Australia Medal (OAM), brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to every training session, seminar, and grading. We are incredibly fortunate to have such an esteemed instructor leading our club.
In addition to regular training sessions, the TSKF Playford Dojo hosts various events throughout the year, including gradings and competitions. These events provide opportunities for members to test their skills, track their progress, and compete against fellow karateka from different dojos. We also have the privilege of welcoming prominent figures in the karate community, such as Kobayashi Shihan of the JKA, who attended our Nationals in March this year.
Located at the Playford Scout Hall on Innes St, our dojo offers a dedicated training space equipped with all the necessary facilities to support effective training. With a focus on promoting good character, perseverance, respect, and harmony, the TSKF Playford Karate Dojo values the holistic development of each individual, both physically and mentally.
