Victoria City Rowing Club

Inner Harbour, the club was finally forced to move to a location behind the Royal BC Museum. In 1938, a new James Bay Boathouse was built on Laurel Point to accommodate the club's growing membership and the arrival of female rowers.

The Victoria City Rowing Club, as it is known today, was officially formed in 1990 through the merger of the James Bay Athletic Association Rowing Club and the Elk Lake Rowing Club. The club has since grown to become a prominent figure in the rowing community, offering top-notch programs and facilities for rowers of all ages and skill levels. VCRC continues to uphold its rich history and traditions while embracing the future of the sport of rowing.
