About

Up at most sports stores. #2 Squash Balls Squash balls come in different speeds, indicated by a colour-coded dot system. Beginners should start with a yellow dot ball, which is the slowest and easiest to handle. As you progress, you can move up to a red dot, then a blue dot, and finally a double yellow dot, which is the fastest and most challenging.

You can purchase squash balls at sports stores or online. #3 Appropriate Clothing It's important to wear comfortable clothing that allows for easy movement on the court. Most players opt for shorts or athletic pants and a moisture-wicking shirt. Non-marking court shoes with good traction are also recommended to ensure safety and stability while playing.

#4 Squash Court and Club Access Find a squash court near you and inquire about club membership or court rental options. Many clubs offer beginner programmes or coaching services to help you get started. Joining a club also allows you to participate in leagues, tournaments, and social events. Tips for beginners: Start with a warm-up: Before hitting the court, spend a few minutes stretching and warming up your muscles to prevent injuries.

Take beginner lessons: If you're completely new to squash, consider taking lessons from a certified coach. They can teach you the basic rules and techniques, as well as help you improve your skills. Practise drills: There are various drills you can do to improve your squash game, such as solo hitting against the front wall, practising your serves, or playing mini-games with a partner. Set realistic goals: As a beginner, don't expect to have the same level of skill as advanced players right away.

Set small, achievable goals to track your progress and celebrate your accomplishments along the way. Have fun: Squash is a challenging and fast-paced sport, but it's important to remember to have fun and enjoy the game. Don't be afraid to make mistakes and learn from them. Squash is a friendly and inclusive sport, so don't hesitate to ask more experienced players for advice or help.
